The River Adige Park is located in the city of Verona, with a surface of 820.000 square meters . A green area, close to downtown. The belt of the Park lies South of the city, from Boschetto to Bosco Buri. Many birds are present on the river banks and on the Pestrino Island, all year round and especially during migration. 

  During the winter season, Black-headed Gull (Larus ridibundus), Common Gull (Larus canus), Yellow-legged Gull (Larus cachinnans) are abundant, as are other aquatic species such as Little Grebe (Tachybaptus ruficollis), Great Crested Grebe (Podiceps cristatus), Moorhen (Gallinula chloropus), Grey Heron (Ardea cinerea), Mallard (Anas platyrhynchos), Tufted Duck (Aythya fuligula), Pochard (Aythya ferina) and Mute Swan (Cygnus olor). A great number of Cormorant (Phalacrocorax carbo) roost on the trees of the Pestrino Island. Thanks to the presence of a forest and a reedbed, we can meet species such as Robin (Erithacus rubecula), Dunnock (Prunella modularis), Cetti's Warbler (Cettia cetti), Blue Tit (Cyanistes caeruleus), Firecrest (Regulus ignicapillus), Long-tailed Tit (Aegithalos caudatus), Sardinian Warbler (Sylvia melanocephala) and several other warblers and finches. Among the Picidae, Great Spotted Woodpecker (Dendrocopos major) and Green Woodpecker (Picus viridis), while among raptors species such as Sparrowhawk (Accipiter nisus), Buzzard (Buteo buteo) and Peregrine (Falco peregrinus). Occasionally Woodcock (Scolopax rusticola) and also Bullfinch (Pyrrhula pyrrhula) can be found.

  In migration we can see Garganey (Anas querquedula), Wood Warbler (Phylloscopus sibilatrix), Willow Warbler (Phylloscopus trochilus) and Pied Flycatcher (Ficedula hypoleuca

Pettirosso - Robin   

  Il Parco del fiume Adige si estende in territorio comunale per una superficie di 820.000 mq. Un polmone verde, nei pressi del centro città. La fascia del Parco si estende a Sud della città, dalla località Boschetto a Bosco Buri. Quì  sono presenti molti uccelli stanziali e migratori i quali popolano le sponde e l’isolotto del Pestrino. 

   Durante la stagione invernale, sono presenti numerosissimi Gabbiani comuni (Larus ridibundus), Gavine (Larus canus), Gabbiani reali (Larus cachinnans) nonchè altre specie acquatiche come Tuffetti ( Tachybaptus ruficollis ), Svassi maggiori (Podiceps cristatus), Gallinelle d'acqua (Gallinula chloropus), Aironi cenerini(Ardea cinerea), Germani reali (Anas platyrhynchos), Morette (Aythya fuligula), Moriglioni (Aythya ferina) e Cigni reali (Cygnus olor). Un folto gruppo di Cormorani (Phalacrocorax carbo) sosta sugli alberi dell'Isola del Pestrino. Grazie alla presenza di una zona boschiva e una di canneto possiamo incontrare specie come Pettirosso (Erithacus rubecula), Passera scopaiola (Prunella modularis), Usignolo di fiume (Cettia cetti), Cinciarella (Cyanistes caeruleus), Fiorrancino (Regulus ignicapillus), Codibugnolo (Aegithalos caudatus), Occhiocotto (Sylvia melanocephala) e numerosi altri silvidi e fringillidi. Tra i Piciformi il Picchio rosso maggiore (Dendrocopos major) ed il Picchio verde (Picus viridis), mentre tra i rapaci specie come Sparviere (Accipiter nisus), Poiana ( Buteo buteo) e Falco pellegrino (Falco peregrinus). Occasionalmente possono essere osservati Beccaccia (Scolopax rusticola) ed anche il Ciuffolotto(Pyrrhula pyrrhula).  

    Tra i migratori invece possiamo citare Marzaiola (Anas querquedula), Luì verde (Phylloscopus sibilatrix), Lui' grosso (Phylloscopus trochilus) e Balia nera (Ficedula hypoleuca).

Gavina - Common Gull

  From the A4 Freeway (Milano-Verona-Venezia) exit at Verona Sud, then take Viale delle Nazioni, Viale Piave. At the end of this Viale, turn right on Via Faccio, then after the S. Francesco Bridge turn right again. Drive under the bridge and keep your right. After 200 m of a dirt road you find a parking place. Here the trail starts.

  Uscite dall'autostrada A4 (Milano Verona Venezia) al casello di Verona Sud. Seguite Viale delle Nazioni, Viale Piave. Alla fine di questa strada girate a destra per Via Faccio e dopo il Ponte S. Francesco girate ancora a destra. Passate sotto il ponte della ferrovia e mantenete la destra. Dopo 200 mt. di strada sterrata trovate un parcheggio è da quì che parte il percorso.
